It is a stepping stone towards a career in residential and commercial construction. It teaches the important skills of construction technology and management. It is a two-year course which is basically an undergraduate degree worth 60-70 credits, depending on the institution. It provides technical knowledge and skills to the candidates and after completion of this degree; they can pursue their four-year undergraduate degree as well, by enrolling in the third year directly, however requirements and criteria for enrollment may vary for different colleges.
Some features of this course are:
It gives an introduction to the technologies used in construction.
Construction Methods and Materials are introduced.
Students learn how to make Technical Drawings.
Planning and construction control is taught.
It helps in interpreting design plans.
Communication skills are improved to talk to workers and clients.
Construction sites can be supervised.
Project costs control is an important part of this course.
An online degree in Construction Management is relevant to learn about creating various designs using software and also creating traditional designs. It helps in building the skills and potential needed to be in construction management without the need to go to college. The online course structure is flexible and fee structure is less. Students can learn without any rush as the course is available all the 24 hours the full week. Interactive and Communicative sessions are held on the forum available to the students. Curriculum information is available on the web portal.

Subjects
Architectural Design Theory- It deals with thinking, discussing and writing about architectural design and theories given by various architects, used for construction purposes.
Construction Communication Procedures- It focuses on how communication is a vital key in construction management as it assures the easy flow of information is worked gets done quickly and efficiently. Oral and Written conversations take place.
Project Scheduling and Cost- The list of work to be done or targets to be completed comes under project scheduling. How and what work is to be done and how the cost of materials can be the least and efficient in construction.
Job estimating and bidding- It is meant for designing sitemaps and construction materials using the software as it reduces the time and gives a good finish to the blueprint of the work. Heavy construction designs can be made through this. Bid sheet gives an outline of the cost involved in the project by gathering all the items.
Structural Behavior- It determines the behaviour of all the materials used in construction and gives the fundamental concepts of construction.
Mathematics- It includes the concepts which are useful for building any structure such as Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry etc.
