An Associate Degree in Counseling is a two-year undergraduate degree which specializes in building the foundation for the professionals in providing guidance to those suffering emotionally and psychologically and helping them find a way out of the problems. The students enrolled in this course can be prepared to enter the profession of counselling or can choose to pursue the four-year undergraduate degree as higher studies. Transfer of credits is possible and students can directly enrol in the third year of the college, however, requirements for enrolment differ from each college/university.

Counselling theory and practices- Theories of psychology are taught in this subject along with its applications and practices. It provides a philosophical and historical base for the study.
Human and Spiritual Development- This subject talks about the development of a human being through different stages of its life and how he/she develops spiritually.
History- Various surveys and psychological instances throughout the history are studied in this subject and also how psychology has developed throughout the ages.
Culture Studies- This gives an outlook as to how culture influences the behaviour of an individual and creates different experiences for a human. It focuses on cultural analysis and its historical and political dynamics.
