Autism education is the course that offers the knowledge and skills that are required to teach children and students having autism spectrum disorders and need special care. This course offers an overview of student characteristics, theory and teaching applications for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
An Accredited College/University creates a pathway for the students to enroll in autism education programs offered by the Colleges/University which are funded by the federal government or the state government.

A Graduate Certificate autism education program is designed to help you understand common characteristics associated with autism spectrum disorders and the assessment of each condition. Requires 10-25 credits and takes 1 year to be completed.
A Bachelor’s degree requires 110-130 credits and takes 4 years to be completed. It is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the autism spectrum, an introduction to the latest research and an insight into current practice.
A Master’s degree requires 30-40 credits and 2 years to be completed. The master’s degree offers advanced pedagogical training and more specific training in common disorders.
A Doctorate’s degree requires 60-65 credits and takes 3-4 years to be completed. The doctorate degree prepares students for teaching, research, consulting, and administrative careers in applied behavior analysis working with children with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders.
The minimum required GPA to apply for admission in autism education program falls between 2.8-3.00.
