The course offers various specializations:
An Associate's Degree in Drug, substance abuse and addiction trains the students on the basic treatment of patients and working as an addicts training counselor. This degree normally takes about two years to be completed.
A Bachelor's Degree gives the students in-depth knowledge in the group and individual counseling, psychological evaluations, and assessments, diagnoses of chemical or behavioral dependency, addiction psychology and sociology, and pharmacology. This normally takes four years for completion.
A Master's Degree trains students with the skills required in-treatment and methods of preventing addiction. They get trained in methods for group counseling, contemporary topics in substance abuse and methods for treatment for alcohol and drug abuse.
Specializations in Drug, Substance Abuse and Addiction include addictions counseling, addiction studies, drug and alcohol counseling, substance abuse counseling and clinical counseling.
