Software development is the process of conceiving, specifying, designing, coding and programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications. Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology(ABET)
The software development course will cover the fundamentals as well as the in-depth knowledge of how to design and program software. The topics that are covered under this course are java basics, Java syntax, and keywords, testing and debugging, object-oriented programming, polymorphism - interfaces, inheritance, overloading, overriding.
An Associate’s degree provides skills in software design, program implementation, data migration, product documentation, and cost-benefit analysis. It requires 60-90 credits and takes 2 years to be completed.
A Bachelor’s degree provides a solid foundation in computer programming, web development, and application development. It requires 120-150 credits and takes 4 years to be completed.
A Master’s degree provides the student's software development skills as well as system engineering, customer collaboration, and management skills. It requires 40-45 credits and takes 2 years to be completed.
The minimum GPA required to apply for admission in software development program is 2.8-3.00.
The software development course prepares students to be able to develop applications and software. It provides the foundation for the students to become the software developer, application developer, game developer as well as a web developer.
