  3. Complete the admission requirements as specified by the program. After submission of the online application form, an admissions representative will be assigned to you to guide you through other processes.

  4. Register for courses as soon as you are done with the above steps.

  5. Classes at APUS start on a monthly basis for students to easily start their education with no hurdles.

SAT Scores you need to get in

SAT scores have been considered a good way to help colleges interpret the students' overall academic performance. But it is important to note that there is no concrete information regarding the average SAT score or similar requirements for admission to American Public University System. Notably, at the university, SAT scores are not one of the mandatory requirements to get an admission.

  • The variable degree programs require a high school diploma or equivalent to apply here along with transcripts specified by the respective program applicant is opting for.

Undergraduate Admission Requirements

Fulfilling certain terms for admission into undergraduate programs is necessary at APUS. You need to consider the following points:

  • The university requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) along with a colour copy of your valid government-issued photo ID before registering for courses.

  • Complete a College Readiness Assessment, if you do not have 9+ hours of college credits.

  • If you are a transfer student, the university may also ask for your transcripts from any other schools where you earned college-level academic credit.

  • If you are Military undergraduate students will submit a government-issued JST or CCAF transcript.


Graduate Admission Requirements

Around 30% of the previous APUS students prefer to return for their second degree here. The educational experience for Graduate programs is in an online format for bringing relevant curriculum in the most popular fields.

The requirements for master’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Graduate Learning Tracks are as follows:

  • Official degree transcripts from previous institutions attended.

  • Institutions must be accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

  • If you have a non-U.S. transcript, you have the option to get your transcripts evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a university-approved agency and can choose to submit a TCE to earn possible transfer credit.

  • You will be asked to submit a colour copy of your valid government-issued photo ID. Military students, except the Air Force, can submit a government-issued JST transcript. Undergraduate Airmen (Air Force) are required to submit a government-issued CCAF transcript. Graduate Airmen will submit a legible copy of a government-issued photo ID.


International Students Admission Requirements

Fulfilling certain terms for international students is necessary at APUS. The university welcomes students from different part of the world, with the following basic requirements:

  • Depending on your citizenship, you will be required to submit the score of English Proficiency Test.

  • Since the online mode of education can also be chosen, you are required to have regular access to a computer and a stable Internet connection to gain access to educational materials, classes and coursework.

  • For degree programs, if you have earned college credits at a CHEA accredited institution or from a member university of Universities Canada (formerly the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada), you will be required to submit your transfer credit evaluation (TCE) application when you apply.

  • If you have a non-U.S. transcript, you have an option to get your transcripts evaluated for U.S. equivalency by a university-approved agency and can choose to submit a TCE to get possible transfer credit.


Military Student Admission Requirements

APUS understands the unique challenges faced by the military members and their kin. This can be supported by the fact of military students consisting of 81% of the entire student population. The university respects its educational goals and the admission requirements have been made simple for the same reason.

The Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard personnel are required to submit a government-issued joint services transcript (JST), which the university will order on the applicant’s behalf.


Admission Requirements for Other programs

The other interesting programs one can opt for are cited below:

  • Airport Transportation Security Learning Track: This program is open only for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees.

  • B.S. Nursing Program: This requires you to have a diploma or associate degree in nursing. Apart from this, you also need a current, active, and unencumbered U.S. Registered Nursing (RN) license. 

  • CPA Examination Preparation Certificate: Previous credits in accounting subject is necessary to apply for this course.

  • Child Life Certificate: A bachelor’s degree is an essential requirement for this certificate course.

  • Electrical Engineering (BSEE): For enrolment in this program, you need to have in-home lab equipment along with 126 credit hours for smooth and proper completion of the program.

  • Foundations of Homeland Security Certificate: This certificate course is open only for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees.

  • Information Security Learning Track: This interesting program requires you to have previous credits in a network technology course for easy enrolment in the program.
