Admission Process in American Sentinel University
Bachelor’s Degree Admission Process
Step 1: Applicants can submit an application online or fill a paper copy and send it via post to the university. Along with the application, applicants are required to submit their resume/ curriculum vitae/statement of professional accomplishment and goals.
Step 2: Applicant’s associate degree transcripts must be sent to American Sentinel University by the granting institution.
Step 3: Applicants must submit a copy of their registered nurse license (It must be active and unencumbered)
Step 4: These are the following requirements

Applicants must have a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550+ if it is written or online TOEFL score of 215+

Applicants must have an IELTS (An International English Language Test) score of at least 5.0 for undergraduate and 6.5 for graduate

Applicants must have a verification of certification in an English proficiency program.
Note: This step is to be followed by applicants whose first language is not English or by those who do not possess an undergraduate degree from an institution where all the subjects were taught in English.
Applicants who are registered nurse in the US but have been educated outside the United States will need to be certified by Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools and they will have to clear a licensure examination conducted by NCLEX-RN in order to be considered for admission.
Master’s Program Admission Process
Step 1: Applicants can present the application on the web or round out a paper duplicate. They'll have to present their resume/curriculum vitae/articulation of expert achievements and objectives
Step 2: Submit proof of a degree. Transcripts must be sent straightforwardly to American Sentinel University by the conceding organization.
Step 3: Apply for exchange credits. On the off chance that the candidate wishes to get credits for courses or degrees from establishments outside the United States or Canada, their transcripts must be assessed and ensured by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services part association. Master of Science Nursing Admission Process
Step 1: Applicants can submit their form online or fill a paper copy. Applicants are required to submit their resume/curriculum vitae/statement of professional accomplishments and goals.
Step 2: The granting institutions must send a copy of the applicants BSN transcripts to American Sentinel University. Candidates applying to the RN to MSN need to submit a copy of their ASN transcript.
Step 3: Applicants are required to submit a copy of their registered nurse license (the license must be active and unencumbered)
Step 4: Applicants are advised to apply for transfer credits. For applicants who have done courses or degrees from institutions outside the United States, have to get their transcripts evaluated and certified by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member organization and this report has to be directly sent to American Sentinel University.
Step 5: These are the requirements

Doctoral Program Admission Process
Step 1: Candidates can submit their application or they can send in a paper copy, along with this application, the applicant’s resume/curriculum vitae/statement of professional accomplishments and goals must be submitted.
Step 2: A copy of the active and unencumbered registered nurse license must be submitted.
Step 3: The applicant’s granting institution must send evidence of the applicant’s master’s degree to American Sentinel University.
Infection Prevention and Control Certificate Program Admission Process
Step 1: Candidates can either fill a paper copy or submit their application online along with their resume or curriculum vitae or statement of professional accomplishments and goals
Step 2: Applicants must submit their transcripts but they are not eligible to receive transfer credits. The transcripts are solely for evidence purposes. Candidates who have done their courses outside USA or Canada need to get their transcripts evaluated and certified by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member organization for a particular amount of fee, and this must be sent directly to American Sentinel University.
Step 3: Candidates whose first language is not English or candidates who did not study all their courses in English for their undergraduate degree must meet the following requirements

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of no less than 550 (composed variant) or 215 (PC form).

International English Language Test (IELTS) score of no less than 5.0 for undergrad and 6.5 for graduates.

Or a verified certificate in an English proficiency program.
Admission requirements for American Sentinal University
Bachelor’s Degree Requirements (RN to B.S. nursing)
1) If the applicant has been educated in the USA and holds a US RN license, he/she must submit the following

A copy of the applicant’s US RN license which is active and unencumbered.

The applicant’s official transcripts must be sent to American Sentinel University directly from the granting institutions. The applicant should have received their education from a school of nursing, hospital or should have an associate degree in nursing program which has been accredited by a recognized agency or the US Department of Education.
2) If the applicant has received education outside the USA but holds a US RN license, he/she must submit the following

A copy of the applicant’s US RN license, this license must be active and unencumbered.

NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member organization or an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) must grant a certificate to the applicant stating that the education received by the applicant is on par with the education provided by any US nursing school.

Applicants who wish to receive transfer credits from an institution outside the US must have their NACES and CGFNS evaluation approved and this report must be submitted at the time of evaluation.
3) If the applicant has received education outside the USA and does not hold a US RN license, he/she must submit the following

The applicant must submit a Validation of Licensure Report as evidence to prove that they are legitimately approved to practice as a nurse in the area in which they work. American Sentinel University accepts reports given by CGFNS.

Applicants must get an Academic Report stating that the education received by them is of the same level of the education provided by any nursing institution in the USA, this report can be provided to them by NACES or CGFNS.

To receive transfer credits from an institution outside the United States, the applicant must get their NACES/CGFNS evaluation approved and submit this report at the time of evaluation.
Master's Degree Requirements (MSN)
1) Applicants who have received education within the US and hold US RN License must present the following

A copy of the applicant’s US RN license that is active and unencumbered.

The applicant’s nursing education must be bachelors of science nursing degree with at least 2.0 GPA out of 4.0. These transcripts must be sent directly to American Sentinel University from the granting institutions.
2) Applicants who have received education outside the US but hold a US RN license must present the following
-
A copy of the applicant’s active and unencumbered US RN license.

The applicant must submit an Academic Report stating that the education they have received is on par with the standard of education provided any nursing institution in the USA. This report must either be received from NACES or CGFNS.

The applicants NACES or CGFNS evaluation must be approved course-by-course in order to receive transfer credits from institutions outside the US.
3) Applicants who do not have a US RN license and have received education outside the US must present the following

Applicants need to submit a Validation of Licensure Report as proof of their legal authorization to practice as a professional nurse in their geographical area of work. CGFNS provides this report.

Applicants must submit an Academic Report from NACES or CGFNS stating that the education they have received is equal to a GPA of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 in a US nursing institution.

The applicant’s NACES/CGFNS evaluation needs to be approved course-by-course in order for the applicant to receive transfer credit from an institution outside the United States.
Doctoral Degree Program

Applicant must submit proof of employment. In case of unemployed applicants, they must verify that they have access to a suitable work environment.

In the past 5 years, the applicant must have had a full-time work experience either in a leadership or should have been a faculty in a nursing college/university (2-4 year courses), hospital or healthcare.

In the past 5 years, the applicant must have had at least a minimum of one-year full-time experience in an informatics or technology-based nursing leadership role.
-
In the past 5 years, the applicant must have had at least a 1-year work experience in fields of Advanced Practice Nurse (NP), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
Infection Prevention and control certificate program

The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in bachelor’s degree of either public health or nursing or dietetics or microbiology or any other healthcare-related programs.

Applicants cannot receive transfer credits for the certificate program at American Sentinel University.
Note: If the applicant is utilizing federal financial aid, they must submit official transcripts. If the applicants are not utilizing federal financial aid, unofficial copies may be submitted for purposes of evaluation and acceptance. However official copies must be submitted within the stipulated time.
