The Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement is an online session organized by Athens State University that will allow students and parents to see how much they have borrowed, preview what their monthly payments might be, and explain concepts such as capitalization and the difference between federal and private loans.
Starting in the 2020-2021 school year, borrowers of Federal Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and PLUS loans will be required to complete the Informed Borrowing Confirmation process once each award year before receiving disbursement of their loan. After April 15th, 2020 students may log into their 'MyStudentAid' account using their respective FSA ID and password to complete this Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement requirement.
Direct Subsidized Loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2010, have an interest rate of 4.5% while Direct Unsubsidized Loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2010, have an interest rate of 6.8%. In addition to interest, students have to pay a loan fee of up to 2.5% of the principal amount of each Direct Subsidized or Direct Unsubsidized Loan that they receive.
Unfortunately, no statistics regarding the same can be provided as the university has not provided any explicit information regarding these. Keep watching this space for any sort of latest updates.
