Austin Peay State University’s Office of Student Federal Aid follows the Statement of Ethical Principles, Code of Conduct, and the Principles of Excellence. The office is designed to uphold the University’s goals, mission, and vision. For its applicants, APSU provides access to Federal, University, and Donor aids to help them in enrollment and graduation. APSU supports the timely delivery of financial aid to its students for sound enrollment. Along with effective communication, the university desires to offer support through counseling and outreach.
To apply for financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov. The FAFSA opens on October 1 and students must reapply each year to receive financial aid. The priority deadline for FAFSA being February 1. APSU offers Scholarships to students which is an exemplary way to fund their education. Scholarship opportunities offered by APSU are Academic Scholarships, APSU Scholarships, Tennessee Lottery Programs, and Tennessee Promise.
While applying for financial aid, students must be familiar with COA and EFC. COA(Cost of Attendance) is based on the allowance for direct costs, including tuition and fees, indirect costs, including housing, meals, etc. EFC(Expected Family Contribution) is the amount a family is able to contribute towards the college expenses of students. The Federal Pell Grant is available to students seeking Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. On the other hand, Federal Direct Student Loans are debts that must be repaid.
