Bayan Claremont is a private not for profit institution which was founded in 2011. It was established with an aim to prepare spiritual and religious leaders (such as pastors, priests, imams, and chaplains) who can learn in an inter-religious environment. Bayan Claremont was founded with the help of the Islamic Center of Southern California, to produce ethical leaders and scholars grounded in the Islamic tradition.
The mission of the college is to develop and emphasizes the experiences discovered in Islamic traditions. It allows the students to learn in multi-religious and multi-ethnic background. It is a part of an interreligious consortium that involves partnering with institutions that represent Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and other faith traditions.
