Undergraduate Application Process
Admission to the University is open to qualified seniors from approved high schools pending receipt of ACT scores.
Applicants who complete their secondary education through home study, home school, or other programs will be reviewed individually. Submission of ACT scores is required of all applicants currently in high school or students who have completed high school requirements within the last two (2) years.
Application Procedures

All high school students are required to complete the Bemidji State University Application, available from the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, and through the Bemidji State University Web site at the official link. The completed application, along with a $20.00 non-refundable application fee

Official high school transcripts should be returned to the BSU Office of Admissions and Scholarships.

All applicants who have been out of high school for less than two years, including home school and General Educational Development examination (GED) applicants are required to submit ACT scores. Students are required to submit official ACT scores for admission. Official ACT scores may be provided electronically from ACT from an official high school transcript or another college or university transcript. Bemidji State University's ACT school code is 2084. Only applicants who have been out of high school for more than two years are not required to submit ACT scores.

Admission Guidelines

Home Schooled, Charter School, Alternative/Area Learning Center School students will be evaluated based upon previous high school rank and test scores (ACT, SAT, MCA) to determine if they are in -the top 50 percentile.
Conditional Admission for High School Graduates

A student who does not meet the minimum admission criteria may be offered conditional admission status. Factors considered in granting conditional admission include the student's overall academic record, the nature of the curriculum, assessment/achievement test scores (i.e. SAT, MCA), date of graduation, work, and/or military experience. Conditionally admitted students need to adhere to the Student Academic Progress policy. The student may be required to enroll in prescribed courses.
Graduate Application Process
All graduate applications should be completed within sixty (60) days of initially applying. Incomplete applications may be terminated. Applicants are required to contact Graduate Studies if there are extenuating circumstances (i.e. bachelor’s degree completion) or an extension is needed.
Applicants are required to review the specific admissions deadlines and special requirements for their desired graduate program. Students completing more than one program will need to meet the requirements for each unique program.

Applicants must note that graduate students enrolled in an online program are not eligible for an I-20 to study within the United States.

Application Requirements for undergraduate International applicants must submit the following documents. All supporting documents may be scanned and submitted to the institute’s office via email. BSU reserves the right to request an original copy of documents, should the scanned copy not prove sufficient.

Once an applicant has submitted a complete application, they may pay their application fee with a credit card by telephoning the Cashier’s Office at 218.755.2045 (M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). Or, they may mail a $20 check to the institute’s office, made payable to “Bemidji State University.” Another option to pay: once the application fee appears on the applicant’s account, they may pay with a credit card by logging into their e-Service account, an applicant must go to “Bills and Payment” and then to “Make a Payment.”
