It is interesting to note that, every year, around 83% of students at CSI receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $2,393,001. Notably, a total of 52% of the applicants to College of Southern Idaho receive the Federal Grant every year. Meanwhile, 78% of the applicants receive the Student Grant and 49% are awarded the Institution Grant, while 52% of the students get the Pell Grant. Furthermore, the average aid for the Federal Grant receivers is $4,842, and the same stands at $3,041 for State Grant awardees and $2,770 for Institution Grant recipients. And, for the Pell Grant awardees, the average aid amount is $3,806. The annual family income of the applicants is also considered for determining the total financial assistance that they will be eligible for. Alternatively, the candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans, apart from financial grants and scholarship schemes to pay for their studies. But, they should understand that student loans are borrowed at a certain rate of interest, unlike grants and scholarships. Candidates are also required to repay these loans within a given period. Every year, around 17% of the applicants to College of Southern Idaho opt for student loans.
