Graduate Admission Process

Applicants who are seeking admission for a graduate program at Fort Valley State University. The process is the same as that of an undergraduate student apart from that there is few steps that the candidate has to complete for a graduate program. The admission process for a graduate program is:

  • A completed graduate program application

  • Application processing fee ($20 for domestic applicants and $75 for international applicants)

  • A resume.

  • A statement of purpose.

  • 3 letters of recommendation.

For International Student Admission Process

Fort Valley State University accepts students from all parts of the world. If a foreign national is seeking admission at the university the admission process for the foreign national is as follows:

  • Return the completed application with a $75 non-refundable application fee.

For Transfer Student Admission Process

Students who are currently studying in some other college or university but wish to transfer themselves to Fort Valley State University. The university takes transfer admission on two bases.

First is if the student has completed the following things

  • At least 30 transferable semester hours or 45 transferable quarter hours

  • Cumulative college grade point average of at least a 2.0

If the candidate fulfills the above criteria students can apply for the admission through the following steps

  • Complete your online application.

  • Mail your transcript to the FVSU.

Second is if the student has completed the following things

  • Less than 30 transferable semester hours or 45 transferable quarter hours.

  • Cumulative college grade point average of at least a 2.0.

  • Complete an online or print application.

  • Have your high school mail FVSU your final transcript or submit your GED scores and have each college you have attended mail FVSU your transcripts.
