It is interesting to note that, every year, around 97% of students at IC receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $26,745,599. Notably, a total of 22% of the applicants to Ithaca College receive the Federal Grant every year. On the other hand, 95% of the candidates get the Student Grant, 95% receive the Institution Grant, and 21% get the Pell Grant. Furthermore, the average aid for the Federal Grant receivers is $6,952, and the same stands at $3,030 for State Grant awardees and $25,526 for Institution Grant recipients. As far as the Pell Grant beneficiaries are concerned, the average aid received stands at $4,822. The average aid amount stands at $35,337 for an annual family income between $30,001 and $48,000. This amount comes to $30,133 for those who fall under the $48,001-$75,000 family income bracket. On the other hand, the average federal aid stands at $25,303 for those with an annual family income between $75,001 and $110,000, and at $19,572 for an income more than $110,000. Alternatively, the candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans, apart from financial grants and scholarship schemes to pay for their studies. In contrast to grants and scholarships, student loans are taken by the candidates at a certain rate of interest. Moreover, the funds received through these loans will have to be repaid within a given timeframe. At IC, an estimated number of 72% of the applicants choose to go for student loans.
