Undergraduate Admission process
Apply Online
Apply to LSU using the Common Application.
The application requires a $50 non-refundable application fee ($65 fee after April 15).
Application fee waivers are available for students with demonstrated financial need.
Search “LSU” or “Louisiana State University” in the Common Application and apply it by filling up all the necessary details.
Submission of Test Scores
There are several ways applicants can submit their ACT or SAT scores for admission consideration:
Self-report scores using the SRAR (Self-Reported Academic Record), accessible in the applicant’s LSU Admissions Portal
Self-report scores on the Common Application
Enter LSU’s code when registering for the ACT or SAT as an institution that automatically receives scores.

Email an official score report or a screenshot of your ACT or SAT online portal to your LSU Admissions Counselor or admissions@lsu.edu. The student’s full name, test date, and all scores from that test date must be visible. The applicant’s LSU Admissions Portal checklist will be updated within 24 hours after scores are received.
Submission of the Transcripts
Submit a transcript from all high schools you’ve attended.
Louisiana Students
LSU can access in-state transcripts electronically through the Louisiana Department of Education. If a paper transcript is needed, you will be contacted directly.
Louisiana high school students may elect to use one of the methods below to submit grades but consult your high school counselor first.
Non-Louisiana Students
You may self-report your grades using LSU’s SRAR (Self-Reported Academic Record) system.
Applicants must report grades exactly as they appear on the high school transcript. The university strongly recommends having a copy of the transcript available when entering grades into SRAR.
Letter of Recommendation
The university requires at least one letter of recommendation from an academic source (counselor, teacher, advisor, administrator, etc.) for all applicants. This letter of recommendation will also be utilized for scholarship awarding, where more depth of an applicant is necessary for specific departmental or donor awards.

Funding and Financial Aid
Applicants who are not able to pay fees, the university helps them by giving them financial assistance in many ways such as providing them fellowships, assistantships, tuition awards, and grants.
Prepare Required Materials
In this step, the students have to get all the required materials ready which are asked by the university. The required materials are the official transcripts, curriculum vitae, standardized test scores, English language proficiency, and letter of recommendation.
Complete Online application
The last step includes completion of the online application and paying the non-refundable fee of $50 for domestic students and $70 for international students. The students have to attach all the necessary details along with the application.
