Students can avail of scholarships provided by the college, such as ASTA Northern California Chapter - Richard Epping Scholarship, AWA Scholarship Awards, CCNMA Scholarship, and Cal Grant A, if they find educational expenses to be on the higher side. It is interesting to note that almost every student at MC receives some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of provided assistance/loans in a year is $2,461,349. More information regarding the financial assistance schemes can be accessed on MC’s official financial aid page at http://www.menlo.edu/admissions-financial-aid/financial-aid/. At MC, the total percentage of applicants who receive the Federal Grant stands at 43%. On the other hand, 97% of the candidates get the Student Grant, 97% receive the Institution Grant, and 43% get the Pell Grant. While the Federal Grant awardees receive an average aid of $5,150, the State Grant receivers and Institution Grant beneficiaries get $5,711 and $28,060, respectively. And, for the Pell Grant awardees, the average aid amount is $5,058. The annual family income of the applicants is also considered for determining the total financial assistance that they will be eligible for. On average, students with an annual family income of less than $30,000 will obtain a federal aid of $30,543 per year. Candidates who come under the $30,001-$48,000 family income bracket receive an average aid of $33,107, while those falling in the $48,001-$75,000 income category get $31,720 a year. Meanwhile, the average federal aid for students in the $75,001-$110,000 income bracket is $30,753. And, for those with a family income of more than $110,000, the amount stands at $19,845. Apart from financial grants and scholarships, candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans to fund their education. But, they should understand that student loans are borrowed at a certain rate of interest, unlike grants and scholarships. Candidates are also required to repay these loans within a given period. At Menlo College, the percentage of candidates who opt to avail of student loans is around 56%.
