Students can avail of scholarships provided by the college, such as Educational Opportunity Fund Grant, Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars, NJSTARS (Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship), and Part-Time Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) for County College Students, if they find educational expenses to be on the higher side. It is interesting to note that, every year, around 63% of students at WCCC receive some kind of financial aid, while the total amount of assistance/loans provided is $478,189. Notably, a total of 49% of the applicants to Warren County Community College receive the Federal Grant every year. Meanwhile, 63% of the applicants receive the Student Grant and 6% are awarded the Institution Grant, while 49% of the students get the Pell Grant. While the Federal Grant awardees receive an average aid of $4,568, the State Grant receivers and Institution Grant beneficiaries get $2,411 and $779, respectively. As far as the Pell Grant beneficiaries are concerned, the average aid received stands at $3,343. Among other things, the annual family income of the applicant plays a major role in determining the total financial aid they are actually eligible to receive. Alternatively, the candidates can also avail of monetary benefits like student loans, apart from financial grants and scholarship schemes to pay for their studies. But, they should understand that student loans are borrowed at a certain rate of interest, unlike grants and scholarships. Moreover, the funds received through these loans will have to be repaid within a given timeframe. At WCCC, an estimated number of 10% of the applicants choose to go for student loans.
