Our Lady of the Lake University, also known as the Lake, is a Catholic, private not for profit university that was founded in the year 1895 by the sisters of the Divine Providence. Our Lady of the Lake University was one of the first universities to receive a regional accreditation and also its school of social service is the oldest social work school in Texas as well. It has its main campus located at San Antonio.
