About the Scholarship

High school graduates who are Faulkner County, AR residents living at or near the poverty level and are single parents with sole custody of one or more children under 18 are eligible for this award. Students must be the head of the household and be pursuing a career-oriented course of study in order to ensure a better standard of living with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be a resident of Faulkner County in Arkansas for 30 or more days preceding the application deadline. Must be a single parent with sole custody of one or more children under the age of 18. Must be the head of the household. Must be pursuing a career-oriented course of study as a full-time or part-time student in order to ensure a better standard of living. The student cannot have previously earned a bachelor's degree. Must be a low-income person living at or near the poverty level. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Must be a high school graduate and/or GED recipient or older to apply for this undergraduate award. Must be single, legally separated, widowed, or divorced.
