About the Scholarship

Graduate students enrolled in a law or public policy program are eligible for this award. The applicant must have a hearing loss that was diagnosed prior to age seven, is bilateral, and in the moderate to profound range. Application requirements for the George H. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for international and U.S. students. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll as a full-time student. Must have been diagnosed with a moderate to profound hearing loss prior to age seven (the language-learning years). The hearing loss must be bilateral and in the moderate to profound range. Applicants must have an unaided Pure-Tone Average (PTA) of 60dB or greater in the better hearing ear in the speech frequencies of 500, 1000 and 2000 Hz. Individuals with cochlear implants meet this eligibility requirement. Unilateral (one-sided) hearing loss does not qualify. A formula for calculating the PTA is available on the application. Must be accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited law school or master's/doctoral program in public policy or public adminstration.
