About the Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Hempstead County, Arkansas residents who are pursuing a career-oriented course of study (full- or part-time) to ensure a better standard of living for their families. Students must be single (never married, legally separated, divorced, or widowed) with legal custody and sole responsibility for one or more children under the age of 18. Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be a high school or GED graduate or older to apply for this undergraduate award. The student cannot previously have earned a bachelor's degree. Must be a resident of Hempstead County, Arkansas for at least 30 days preceding the deadline for receipt of completed application. Must be single, legally separated, divorced or widowed. Must have legal custody and sole responsibility of one or more children under the age of 18. Must have a low income at or near poverty level. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Must be pursuing a career-oriented course of study (full- or part-time) to ensure a better standard of living for his/her family.
