About the Scholarship

This award is available to Kansas undergraduate minority students who are planning to enroll at a Kansas college or university. Students must demonstrate financial need and must be identified as members of any of the following ethnic/racial groups: African American, American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian or Pacific Islander; or Hispanic. Awarding priority is given to eligible renewals and freshmen students. Application requirements for the Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship are:FAFSA Application form

Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a member of any of the following ethnic/racial groups: African American, American Indian or Alaskan Native; Asian or Pacific Islander; or Hispanic. Must be a resident of Kansas. Must meet one of the following academic requirements: an ACT score of 21 or higher or an SAT score of 990 or higher; a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher; a high school rank in the upper 33 percent; completion of the Kansas Scholars Curriculum; selection by the National Merit Corporation in any category; or selection by the College Board as a Hispanic Scholar. Must attend a Kansas public or private college or university. Must plan to enroll full time. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
