Eligibility Criteria
This award is for U.S. students. Must be an enrolled member of a federally recognized Indian tribe. Must be a resident of North Dakota. Must have been accepted for admission at an institution of higher learning or state career and technical education program within North Dakota. Must enroll as a full-time student or be a part-time student who will complete his/her degree requirements within one semester. Full-time enrollment is generally considered 12 semester hours for undergraduate students and 9 semester hours for graduate students, or their equivalents for quarter or clock hour enrollments. Students who qualify for a merit-based award must be the valedictorian of their high school graduating class (this criterion may be used only for the academic year immediately following high school graduation) OR have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Students who qualify for a need-based award must demonstrate financial need based on the needs analysis and FAFSA. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate or graduate student.
