About the Scholarship

Mississippi students pursuing a master's degree in a program at a Mississippi college/university leading to licensure as a speech-language pathologist are eligible. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and agree to work in a Mississippi public or charter school district as a speech-language pathologist to forgive the loan. Application requirements for the Speech-Language Pathologist Forgivable Loan (SLPL) are:Application form Tax return or FAFSA ID Accept. letter

Eligibility Criteria

This award is for U.S. students. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Must be a legal resident of Mississippi. Must be working on a first master's degree. Must be seeking a degree in speech-language pathology, communicative disorders, or communication sciences and disorders necessary to become a licensed speech-language pathologist. Must be enrolled at a Mississippi college or university. The following institutions currently offer the approved programs of study: Jackson State University; Mississippi University for Women; the University of Southern Mississippi; and the University of Mississippi. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
