St. Petersburg College (SPC) is a Public College established in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1927. It has its educational unites in around 10 locations in cities of Clearwater, Largo, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, Seminole, and Pinellas Park
In the 1920s, the local residents in St. Petersburg needed an educational institution of higher learning to gain knowledge and job skills training in their city as higher education was only available and accessible for people who could travel to distant cities. So in 1927, St. Petersburg Junior College was established in an unused wing of the then-St. Petersburg High School, with just 102 students and 14 faculty members
