Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is a non-profit public college located in a midsize city setting of Denton, that offers doctorate, masters and baccalaureate degrees.
The institution was established in 1901 by the 27th Texas Legislature as the Girls Industrial College, following which after 4 years it became the very first institution to develop a department of music and was renamed as College of Industrial Arts (CIA).
Eventually, the institution went through lots of advancements with the global name of Texas Woman’s University. The institution became co-ed in 1972. Tracing its glorious history, the college aims at two primary visions, the first one being sculpting women to excel in the advanced practical industries and secondly to provide quality liberal education.
